Plairo Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 27, 2026
Plairo, LLC ("Plairo," "we," "us," or "our") provides the Plairo iOS application, the website at plairo.com, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and disclose it, how long we retain it, and the choices available to you. Plairo is operated from the United States and is currently intended for users located in the United States.
Plairo is a productivity service, not a healthcare provider. Plairo is not a medical device, does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, and should not be used as a medical record. Plairo is not generally subject to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ("HIPAA").
1. Information We Collect
Account and Identity Information
When you create or use an account, we may process:
- Your name and email address;
- Your Amazon Cognito account identifier;
- Your authentication method and email-verification status;
- Authentication and account-security records; and
- Information provided by Apple or Google when you choose one of those sign-in methods, subject to the permissions shown by that provider.
Passwords are processed through Amazon Cognito. Plairo does not store readable copies of your password in its application database.
Age-Eligibility Information
Plairo requires users to be at least 13 years old.
On supported devices, Apple's Declared Age Range service may provide an age-eligibility range. If that information is unavailable or you decline to share it, Plairo relies on your self-attestation.
Plairo's backend stores whether the age requirement was satisfied, the applicable policy version, the confirmation method, and the confirmation time. Plairo does not intentionally collect your exact date of birth, identity documents, or exact age through this process.
User Content and Productivity Information
We process information that you choose to enter into Plairo, which may include:
- Tasks, projects, folders, subtasks, descriptions, and notes;
- Questions and answers;
- Due dates, priorities, categories, effort, and completion history;
- Work hours, recurring habits, schedules, reminders, and alert settings;
- Mood selections, productivity barriers, avoidance responses, Mood Work activity, and Mood Day entries;
- Weekly Score information;
- Plairo-created calendar groups and events, including titles, notes, locations, recurrence, and alerts; and
- Other information that you choose to include in a task, project, schedule, calendar event, or support request.
Please do not enter information that you do not want Plairo to process as part of the Service.
Personalization Information
Plairo may generate or store information used to personalize task ordering and productivity support, including:
- Local ranking events containing identifiers, timestamps, and numeric features;
- Capability scores;
- Preferences or weights used to order tasks; and
- Records of starts, completions, or early exits.
Raw Mood selections, productivity-barrier selections, and avoidance selections are stored locally on your device so that they can persist across app launches. Raw ranking-event records are designed not to contain task text. Distilled personalization weights and capability scores may be included in cloud backups.
Plairo does not use this information for advertising or to train generalized artificial-intelligence models.
Certain state laws define consumer health data broadly. Plairo does not use your information to diagnose or treat a health condition. For additional disclosures that may apply under those laws, review our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
Calendar Information
If you grant calendar access, Plairo may read events from Apple calendars that you select and may create or update Apple Calendar events at your direction.
Imported Apple Calendar event contents are processed on your device and are not included in Plairo's cloud snapshot backups. The identifiers of the calendars you select remain on the device. Limited synchronization state associated with imported events, such as whether an event was marked done or hidden in Plairo, may synchronize between your devices using a stable identifier.
Plairo-created calendar groups and events are first-party Plairo data and may be backed up and synchronized through Plairo's cloud services.
Subscription Information
Apple processes your payment information. Plairo may receive or process:
- Product and subscription identifiers;
- Transaction and original-transaction identifiers;
- Subscription status, expiration, renewal, and revocation information;
- Trial or introductory-offer status;
- The App Store environment;
- Apple-signed transaction information; and
- An account token used to associate the subscription with your Plairo account.
Plairo does not receive or store your complete payment-card number.
Device, Network, Security, and Operational Information
Plairo and its service providers may process:
- IP address and general traffic-routing information;
- Request date, time, URL, and API operation;
- Browser type, user agent, device type, operating system, app version, and app build number;
- Authentication and request identifiers;
- Subscription-verification and rate-limit information; and
- Security, error, and diagnostic records.
The current Plairo iOS app does not include advertising SDKs, Google Analytics, or third-party product-analytics SDKs. It does not request access to precise GPS location, contacts, photos, the camera, the microphone, or HealthKit.
Communications
If you contact us, we collect your email address, message, attachments, and other information needed to investigate and respond.
Account-verification, password-reset, and account-security emails are transactional. Plairo does not currently use account email addresses to send marketing emails.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure accounts;
- Provide tasks, projects, schedules, calendars, reminders, backups, and synchronization;
- Provide Mood Work, Mood Day, personalized task ordering, and productivity suggestions;
- Restore data and resolve synchronization conflicts;
- Verify age eligibility and record acceptance of legal terms;
- Process, associate, and verify subscriptions;
- Send verification, password-reset, and account-security messages;
- Provide customer support;
- Prevent abuse, fraud, unauthorized access, and service disruption;
- Diagnose errors and maintain reliability;
- Enforce the Plairo Terms of Service;
- Comply with applicable law and valid legal requests; and
- Protect users, Plairo, and others.
We do not use task, Mood, calendar, or personalization information for advertising.
3. Artificial Intelligence and On-Device Processing
Plairo uses bundled Core ML functionality and, on supported devices, Apple's Foundation Models framework.
Task content used by Foundation Models is processed through Apple-provided on-device functionality. Plairo's implementation does not intentionally transmit Foundation Models prompts or responses to Plairo's servers, third-party cloud AI providers, or analytics services. Prompts and generated responses are intended to be transient and are not included in Plairo cloud backups.
Ordinary task and planning content may separately be included in cloud backups when you use Plairo synchronization. Cloud backup is not part of Foundation Models processing.
4. Local Storage, Cloud Synchronization, and Notifications
Plairo stores information locally using application databases, device preferences, and local backup files.
When you are signed in, Plairo synchronizes eligible information through its Cloudflare-hosted backend. Cloud snapshots may include tasks, projects, schedules, Mood Day entries, Plairo-created calendar information, Weekly Score information, capability scores, and distilled personalization weights.
Plairo uses local iOS notifications rather than its own remote push-notification service. Local notifications may display task or event titles. Their visibility on the lock screen depends on your iOS notification-preview settings.
5. How We Disclose Information
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or use it for targeted advertising.
We disclose information as reasonably necessary to the following recipients:
- Amazon Web Services: for Amazon Cognito authentication, account services, security notifications, infrastructure, operational logging, and related functionality.
- Cloudflare: for website delivery, API hosting, Workers, D1, R2, KV, synchronization, backups, network security, and related infrastructure.
- Apple: for App Store subscriptions, Sign in with Apple, Declared Age Range, device frameworks, and other Apple services that you request.
- Google: when you choose Google sign-in. The current Plairo website also retrieves font files from Google Fonts, which may cause your browser to send Google ordinary request information such as your IP address and user agent.
- Zoho/ZeptoMail: for account-verification, password-reset, and account-security emails.
- Contractors and professional advisers: where reasonably necessary to support Plairo and subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations.
- Government authorities or other parties: where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect legal rights, security, and safety.
- A successor organization: as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of Plairo, subject to applicable law.
Our infrastructure and email providers process information on Plairo's behalf to provide their contracted services. Apple and Google may also process information independently under their own privacy policies when you use their services.
6. Website Privacy
Plairo.com is delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes ordinary network and security information such as IP addresses, request metadata, traffic-routing information, and security events.
The current website does not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or cross-site advertising trackers. It retrieves font files from Google Fonts as described above.
Plairo does not sell personal information or use cross-site advertising trackers. As a result, browser opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control and "Do Not Track" do not change our current processing. If our practices change, we will recognize legally required opt-out signals.
If we later add website analytics, advertising, forms, newsletters, web accounts, or web payments, we will update this Privacy Policy and request consent where required.
7. Retention
We retain information according to the purpose for which it is processed:
- Account information and active User Content are generally retained while your account remains active or until you delete them.
- Some completed standalone items are automatically removed after approximately 60 days.
- Local Mood-ranking event records are retained for approximately 90 days.
- Cloud backup history is limited to recent restore points rather than being maintained as a permanent archive.
- Operational, security, subscription, and support records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for their stated purposes, legal compliance, fraud prevention, accounting, security, and dispute resolution.
After account deletion, Plairo may retain limited subscription-integrity information that is no longer associated with an active Plairo user ID. Information in archived or backup systems may remain until it is deleted or overwritten through normal backup cycles, subject to applicable legal deadlines.
We may retain information longer when required by law, necessary to establish or defend legal claims, or needed to prevent fraud or abuse.
8. Export, Account Deletion, and Uninstalling
Plairo provides a device-local JSON export of current first-party content. The export is not a complete copy of every security log, internal operational record, or personalization value.
You may initiate account deletion through Plairo's account settings. The deletion process is designed to remove active backend information, cloud backups, the Amazon Cognito identity, and local account data. If part of deletion fails, the app may ask you to retry or sign in again.
Plairo does not currently provide a method to delete only Mood-related settings or personalization while retaining the rest of an account. To delete Mood-related information associated with your account, use Delete Account in Plairo's account settings. The process is designed to permanently delete your Plairo account and associated active local and cloud app data, subject to the limited retention described in Section 7.
Uninstalling Plairo from your device does not submit an account-deletion request or delete information already synchronized to Plairo's cloud services. To delete your account and associated cloud data, use Delete Account before uninstalling the app.
Deleting a Plairo account does not cancel an Apple App Store subscription. You must manage or cancel the subscription separately through Apple.
Contact support@plairo.com if you cannot complete account deletion.
9. Privacy Choices and Rights
You may:
- Update supported account information through the app;
- Control calendar and notification permissions through iOS settings;
- Export current first-party content using the app's Export Data feature; and
- Delete your account and associated data using Delete Account.
Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to confirm whether we process your information, access certain information, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, obtain a portable copy, or appeal a refusal to act on a request.
You may submit a legally available privacy request or appeal to support@plairo.com. We may need to verify that the request concerns your account before responding. Plairo does not currently sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or use automated processing to make legally significant decisions, so requests to opt out of those practices should not change current processing.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right provided by applicable law. Nothing in this Privacy Policy limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. California Privacy Disclosures
Depending on how you use the Service, Plairo may process identifiers, customer-record information, subscription information, internet or electronic-network activity, User Content, preferences, and inferences.
We obtain this information from you, your device, identity providers that you select, Apple, and service providers. We use and disclose it for the business and operational purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Plairo has not sold personal information or shared it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Plairo does not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
California residents may exercise rights available under applicable California law by contacting support@plairo.com or by using the in-app controls described above.
11. Children
Plairo is not directed to children under 13, and users must confirm that they are at least 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete the account and associated information.
Contact support@plairo.com if you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information to Plairo.
12. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no application, network transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and account credentials. Contact support@plairo.com if you believe that your account has been compromised.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service, our practices, or applicable law changes. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice through the app, website, or account email.
The Effective Date above indicates when this Privacy Policy was last updated.
